The Library Foundation of Cincinnati and Hamilton County was incorporated in 2004 as a non-profit, tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) organization. Contributions to The Library Foundation help strengthen collections, expand programs, and enhance services. A strong public library system is the foundation upon which a community can preserve the past, empower lives today, and build for the future.
The Library Foundation is deeply committed to diversity, equity and inclusion (see our statement). As a supporting organization and in partnership with the Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library, we help fulfill the mission of our Library through private philanthropy. Our Library system is comprised of 41 locations and is the third busiest library in the United States.
As an independent tax-exempt organization, The Library Foundation has its own governing board.
