Consider a planned gift that will offer ways for you to substantially increase your support of The Library Foundation and achieve your financial goals and family objectives at the same time. All planned gifts will be invested in The Library Foundation’s Endowment unless specified by the donor.

To recognize those who have invested in The Library Foundation and have realized the important legacy that a planned gift creates, we have established the Torch Society.

BEQUESTS IN YOUR WILL

You may designate The Library Foundation as a beneficiary of a gift or part of your estate and significantly reduce the tax burden on your family. Suggested wording for inclusion would be:

“I give, devise and bequeath to The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County Foundation (the “Library Foundation”), a not-for-profit Ohio corporation (tax ID number 30-0234776) located in Cincinnati, Ohio, (describe the gift) to be administered in perpetuity in accordance with the policies of the Foundation.”

A bequest can be a specific dollar amount or asset, a percentage of your estate, or can be an item of personal or real property and clearly described. The amount you endow can be kept completely confidential. Download a  Will Inclusion Language form

LIFE INSURANCE OR RETIREMENT PLANS

Including The Library Foundation as a beneficiary of your life insurance or retirement plan is a simple way to leave a legacy. Transferring a paid policy to The Foundation or purchasing a new policy designating The Foundation as owner.
