
Join us on Thursday, October 15 at 7:00p.m. as the Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library (CHPL) hosts Author Talk with R.L. Stine, featuring an in-person conversation with the bestselling children’s author and creator of the Goosebumps series.The event will take place at the Downtown Main Library and is made possible thanks to the Eva Jane Romaine Coombe Fund at The Library Foundation.

Tickets will go on sale Wednesday, September 16 on this page. Half of the total tickets will be released at 12:00 p.m. and the second half will go on sale at 6:00 p.m. Space is limited.

About the Author:
R.L. Stine is one of the best-selling children’s authors in history. Goosebumps, which recently celebrated its 30th anniversary, has more than 400 million books in print in 32 languages. The Guinness Book of World Records cited him as the best-selling series author in history.
The Goosebumps series made R.L. Stine a worldwide publishing celebrity (and Jeopardy answer). His other popular children’s book series include Fear Street, (recently revived as a feature film trilogy), The Garbage Pail Kids, Mostly Ghostly, The Nightmare Room, and Rotten School. Other titles include It’s The First Day of School Forever, A Midsummer Night’s Scream, Young Scrooge, Stinetinglers, and three picture books, with Marc Brown: The Little Shop of Monsters, Mary McScary, and Why Did the Monster Cross the Road (July 4, 2023).
The Goosebumps TV series was the number one children’s show in America for three years. The episodes can still be seen on Netflix. More recently, R.L.’s anthology TV series, R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour, won the Emmy Award three years in a row as Best Children’s Show. His newest Disney+ TV series is Just Beyond, based on his graphic novels for BOOM! Studios. Two Goosebumps feature films starring Jack Black as R.L. Stine were released in 2015 and 2018. The first film became the #1 film in America. The Fear Street movies all reached #1 on Netflix.
Stine lives in New York City with his wife Jane, an editor and publisher.

Ticketing

Yes. Each customer may purchase up to two tickets total.
No. Every person who buys a ticket will be added to a registration list. Names will be checked at entry, and each ticket holder will receive their two books at that time.
Yes, each person attending the event must have their own ticket.

Yes, you can transfer your ticket to someone else. To do so, please contact Foundation@supportchpl.org and provide the name and email address of the person you’re giving your ticket to so the registration list can be updated.

Seating & Event Experience
No. Seating is first come, first served. Accessible seating is available. Attendees can ask any staff member with help finding a seat.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Please enter the South Building through the Vine Street entrance.
No. The event is happening after the close of public hours, and no one but ticketed attendees are allowed inside the building.
Following the author talk, Tier Two ticket holders will participate in a signing and photo opportunity. Additional activities will be available for all attendees during the signing period as well.
The talk will start promptly at 7:00 p.m. Late arrivals will be admitted when possible, but entry may be delayed to avoid disrupting the program.

Parking & Accessibility
The event will be held at the Downtown Main Library, 800 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45202.
There are multiple self-pay parking options within a one-block radius of the Downtown Main Library, including parking garages, surface lots, and metered street spaces. The Library is also a stop on the downtown streetcar which is free to ride.
Valet parking will also be available to all attendees for $10. Valet parking may be purchased prior to the event or the night of upon arrival at the Library.

No. Meet-and-greet access, photos, and signing opportunities are only included with Tier Two tickets.
